الأهلي فاز على مونتيري المكسيكي بهدف نظيف ضمن مباريات كأس العالم للأندية المقامة في دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة.

ويستعد الأهلي لمواجهة بالميراس البرازيلي في المباراة التي تجمعهما يوم الثلاثاء في دور نصف النهائي لكأس العالم للأندية.

كشفت تقارير صحفية إنجليزية خبرًا سيئًا لفريق مانشستر سيتي قبل مواجهة نورويتش سيتي، مساء اليوم في بطولة الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز.

ومن المقرر أن يلتقي الفريقان في إطار منافسات الجولة الخامسة والعشرين من بطولة الدوري الإنجليزي، على ملعب كارو رود.

وغاب جاك جريليش عن تشكيل مانشستر سيتي الأساسي الذي أعلن عنه المدرب بيب جوارديولا، وكذلك قائمة البدلاء.

وحسب صحيفة “تليجراف” الإنجليزية، فإن جريليش قد تعرض لإصابة مع مانشستر سيتي خلال مشاركته في التدريبات الاستعدادية لمباراة اليوم.

وأوضحت أن إصابة جريليش قد تبعده عن السكاي بلو مدة تقارب شهر، في انتظار البيان الرسمي من قِبل مانشستر سيتي.

وإذا صدقت تلك التكهنات، فإن ذلك يمثل ضربة قوية لـ جوارديولا قبل فترة مزدحمة من المباريات، سواء في الدوري الإنجليزي أو دوري أبطال أوروبا أو كأس الاتحاد الإنجليزي.

According to a report by The Athletic, Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy could turn to former RB Leipzig boss Ralf Rangnick as a managerial option to replace the sacked Jose Mourinho.

There has been no shortage of candidates touted through the media since Mourinho was given his marching orders on Monday, with favourites appearing to be the likes of Julian Nagelsmann and Brendan Rodgers.

Tottenham could turn to Rangnick

However, outside names in the race appear to be in no short supply as Fulham boss Scott Parker and Brighton manager Graham Potter also got throw into the mix (The Daily Mail).

Now, yet another name has emerged, with The Athletic claiming Spurs and Levy could turn to Rangnick as an option ahead of next season.

This is because he has an ‘excellent’ track record of developing young players, an aspect of his managerial style which could match Spurs wonderfully.

Oliver Skipp and Dane Scarlett are showing real promise as the next generation of Spurs starlets, and a manager with Rangnick’s skill of nurturing talent is said to be attractive to Levy.

The 62-year-old has also attracted plenty of praise, with RB striker Yussuf Poulsen calling Rangnick a ‘perfectionist’ (ESPN).

His links to Spurs aren’t entirely new, either, as reliable journalist Miguel Delaney, of the Independent, revealed back in 2019 that he was interested in succeeding Mauricio Pochettino.

As another German candidate enters the fray alongside compatriot Nagelsmann, we feel the latter is still Tottenham’s best bet given he is one of the most exciting coaching talents in Europe.

Those within Tottenham reportedly see him as the perfect candidate (The Daily Mail), and we agree that certainly should be the case.

Journalist Hugh Keevins has slammed Glasgow Rangers’ media policy.

Keevins slams Gers’ media policy

In recent months and years, Rangers have moved to deny traditional media outlets the access they have previously enjoyed, instead providing plenty of content via their in-house media department.

Writing in the Daily Record, Keevins has slammed this change from Rangers. He said:

“Meanwhile, there is no vaccination that immunises you against regret. And one of today’s cup ties, Rangers at home to St Johnstone, fills me with regret from a professional standpoint.

“Nothing to do with the game, more the fact newspapers could be denied direct access afterwards to Ibrox manager Steven Gerrard and may need to take what he says from a feed of Rangers TV.

“That’s what happened the day before Wednesday night’s league match against Saints when Gary McAllister assumed press duties.

“No direct questions. No pursuit of an individual line of inquiry. Not good.”

Infuriating

Whilst Keevins does in part make a good point, you cannot help but feel he is only disappointed from a selfish point of view. Rangers are one of the biggest two clubs in the land and therefore attract the majority of the country’s attention – not being given access to players and the manager is a big blow to journalists.

Rangers clearly feel the coverage of them is unpleasant and inconvenient. In the past, Club 1872 has had to file complaints against outlets such as the Daily Record following the publication of false and damaging stories. If newspapers are hell-bent on shining negative light on the 55-time Scottish champions on a regular basis, it is not hard to see why the club would be reluctant to give them stories to write.

O técnico Jorginho admitiu o desempenho ruim do Vasco na derrota para o Brasil neste sábado, em Pelotas. Leeds United would ‘100 percent’ be interested in signing World Cup winner and Paris Saint-Germain star Julian Draxler this summer, according to Kevin Campbell.

New faces are expected to arrive at Elland Road before the start of next season, as Marcelo Bielsa continues to perfect his squad.

One player who has been linked with an exciting move to Leeds is Draxler, with the Germany international falling out of favour at PSG and reports as far back as last summer suggesting the Whites are eyeing a ‘shock’ move.

The 27-year-old’s current deal at the Ligue 1 champions expires in the summer and he is expected to be plying his trade elsewhere in 2021/22.

Campbell talks up Leeds’ move for Draxler

Speaking to Football Insider, former Arsenal and Everton striker Campbell claimed Leeds would be foolish not to at least attempt to sign Draxler in the coming months:

“You could say it is a no brainer for Leeds but there will be quite a few clubs interested in a player like him on a free transfer.

“I am sure there are clubs interested who could pay him more. They would have to fork out on wages if they really wanted him.

“If they can get him they would take him, 100 percent. I’m sure of that because he would add something to that Leeds team. He’s a great player.”

It could be that Leeds end up being blown out of the water by another club, but trying to snap up Draxler can’t do any harm.

He is arguably a world-class (ESPN) player when on top form, and while he may have lost his way a little at PSG – he has only made nine league starts this season – a fresh challenge could revitalise him, while still at a good age in his career.

It would be a sensational signing – he has won the World Cup, multiple domestic cups and three Ligue 1 titles (Transfermarkt) – and Draxler could be that sprinkling of stardust that Leeds’ squad needs, taking the team to another level in the process, as they perhaps look to push towards the European places next season.
