If you thought Olivier Ntcham had a future at Celtic then you are likely very much mistaken.

His season, very much like Celtic’s, has been utterly dreadful. The Frenchman has been tossed aside and is now on loan in his native country where he’s playing for Marseille.

The Hoops are now 18 points behind Rangers in the SPFL and if anything summed up their considerable slump, it would be Ntcham’s form.

Neil Lennon stopped picking him and you can hardly blame him based on his performances and attitude.

Ntcham started just seven games in the league for the Hoops this term, scoring a solitary goal in the process. For a player blessed with the ability to spring from box to box, his performances were lethargic and in January, they’d understandably had enough.

Newcastle were interested in his services but he ultimately went to Marseille.

Speaking about his displays in a Hoops shirt earlier this term, Alan Brazil told talkSPORT listeners: “Ntcham, he looks as if he’s tools down and not bothered.”

He was given a chance of turning around his season in France but it’s gone from bad to worse. Former Marseille boss Andre Villas-Boas resigned after the club signed Ntcham because he didn’t agree with the move.

Since signing, the central midfielder has been poor for the Ligue 1 side and his most recent game epitomises that. Ntcham was withdrawn at half-time in Marseille’s 2-0 defeat to Lille and was left to feel the wrath of French newspaper L’Equipe at full-time.

The outlet are known for being ruthless with their player ratings and dished out a 3/10 to the 25-year-old. It’s not hard to see why either; he completed just eight passes and won only 25% of his defensive duels.

Ntcham failed to make a single tackle while he offered very little in attack either. The Marseille enforcer didn’t manage to provide a key pass or shot on goal.

It was another rather forgettable night to add to a depressing campaign for the Celtic midfielder. Lennon is very quickly being proven right in his desire to move the £4.5m midfielder on.

His form hasn’t improved in France and with that in mind, they have to wield the axe on his Parkhead career once and for all in the summer.

Crystal Palace defender Patrick van Aanholt appears to be approaching the end of his time at Selhurst Park.

The Dutch defender is out of contract at the end of the season, with Galatasary having reportedly made an offer to acquire his services on a free transfer, according to Turkish publication Fanatik.

However, the hierarchy at the Eagles must ensure that doesn’t happen and instead convince van Aanholt to commit to a new contract.

The £7.2m-rated left-back, signed from Sunderland in the 2016/17 January transfer window, has become a club stalwart in the time since.

He has made 129 appearances for the Eagles. The Dutchman has certainly had his impact in forward positions, too, scoring 14 goals and providing six assists – a very positive record for a defender.

It’s not just his influence on the pitch as to why Palace should be desperate to keep the 30-year-old defender at Selhurst Park, though.

Should van Aanholt depart, that would only leave Roy Hodgson with Tyrick Mitchell as the only natural left-back in the squad.

Whilst the 21-year-old is showing immense promise and could go on to be a reliable first-team player, it might be too early to rely on him for consistent performances in the Premier League.

By allowing him to learn from Van Aanholt, who is supremely experienced in the top-flight of English football, he is only going to improve.

Even if the Dutchman does leave and Hodgson elects to promote Mitchell, this would leave the Eagles extremely light should he ever suffer injury, possibly leading the club into the transfer market for a new left-back.

In order to bring in someone of Van Aanholt’s quality, a considerable fee may have to be forked out.

It makes sense then for Steve Parish and Palace to save their money and instead continue to rely on Van Aanholt at Selhurst Park, considering that he is already a reliable member of the squad.

وشهد الشوط الأول من تلك المباراة خطورة قوية لفريق ولفرهامبتون، حيث سنحت لهم أكثر من فرصة للتسجيل وسط انحسار أصحاب الأرض.

وحاول الشياطين الحمر تصحيح الوضع في الشوط الثاني والوصول بشكل أكبر إلى منطقة جزاء الذئاب، ولكن دفاع الضيوف كان قويًا.

وأحرز النجم البرتغالي كريستيانو رونالدو هدفًا لفريق مانشستر يونايتد في الدقيقة 68، ولكن تم إلغائه بداعِ وجود حالة تسلل.

واحتسب حكم المباراة خمس دقائق كوقت بدلًا من الضائع للشوط الثاني، وحصل مانشستر يونايتد على ركلة حرة في مكان قريب للغاية من منطقة الجزاء بعد تدخل على فيل جونز، نفذها برونو فرنانديز إلا أن حارس ولفرهامبتون تصدى لها بنجاح.

بتلك النتيجة، ارتفع رصيد ولفرهامبتون إلى 28 نقطة في المركز الثامن، ولديه مباراتين مؤجلتين، بينما تجمد رصيد مانشستر يونايتد عند 31 نقطة في المركز السابع ولديه نفس العدد من المؤجلات.

ويعاني محمد عواد من كدمة في الظهر ربما تبعده عن المشاركة مع فريقه في المباراة المقبلة.

ويستعد الزمالك للمشاركة في بطولة كأس الرابطة، وكانت قرعة البطولة أسفرت عن وجود الفريق الأبيض على رأس المجموعة الثالثة، وتضم المجموعة فرق: “فاركو وإنبي وغزل المحلة وسيراميكا كليوباترا وطلائع الجيش”.

Jogando em casa, o Náutico começou indo para cima e conseguiu uma boa chance com Rony, logo aos 11 minutos, porém a bola subiu demais. Aos 20 foia vez de Rafael Silva quase marcar de cabeça. O Criciúma respondeu seis minutos depois e Alex Maranhão abriu o placar para os visitantes. O meia recebeu de Jheimy, avançou e bateu sem chances para Júlio César. Os pernambucanos sentiram o gol e foram para o intervalo perdendo por 1 a 0.

Na segunda etapa, o Timbu só chegou com 20 minutos, quando Mateus Müller fez boa jogada e Ferron quase marcou contra o próprio gol. Três minutos depois Luiz salvou o Criciúma após chute de Rony. Os mandantes criavam mas faltava mais capricho na hora de finalizar. Já nos acréscimos, Rafael Pereira teve a última chance, mas Luiz segurou firme para garantir a vitória fora de casa.

Many fans of Crystal Palace have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relayed footage of Roy Hodgson discussing his hopes for the remainder of the Eagles’ season.

Speaking after Palace’s 1-0 win against relegation-threatened West Bromwich Albion last weekend, a result which saw the south London side climb to 11th place in the league standings, Hodgson said that if his side are “in the league” come May, above at least three teams in the Premier League table, that is “all the sheen” he would be looking for from this season.

However, after one Crystal Palace fan relayed the footage of Hodgson on Twitter, stating his belief that the former England boss – who has a matter of months remaining on his contract as Palace manager – has to be “the least ambitious man in world football,” many more fans of the Eagles flocked to have their say on the matter, with the majority also furious with the 73-year-old’s “disgusting” lack of ambition for their club.

What’s the latest?

The 29-year-old centre-back missed the Owls’ last two league outings after picking up a hamstring injury in training and now Darren Moore has ruled him out for several weeks.

Speaking to reporters earlier this week, via the Sheffield Star, the new Wednesday boss said:

“Chey Dunkley has picked up a hamstring injury, so he’s going to be out for a little while.

“In terms of the level, it’ll be more weeks for that one. He picked that one up in training, so it’s a disappointment for us.

“He’s with the medical team now, so he’ll get the treatment and we’ll try and get him back as soon as we possibly can.”

Devastating for Darren

Dunkley’s debut season at Hillsborough Stadium has hardly gone to plan, with injuries making it rather difficult for him to make much of an impact and now he’s been ruled out for the rest of the month, it is hard to envisage him getting back in soon.

However, when he has featured, he’s looked amongst the Owls’ best performers.

The £10k-per-week colossus is currently ranked fifth for average WhoScored rating on the season (6.68), which is above his current replacement Osaze Urhoghide (6.56).

At 6 foot 2 inches, Dunkley is a powerful threat in the air. He has averaged 3.9 aerial duels won, which is the second-best of any Owls defender and ahead of both Julian Borner and Urhoghide once again.

He has also proven to be a no-nonsense type too, managing 3.2 clearances per game too, all via WhoScored.

The Owls are struggling at either end of the pitch right now and Dunkley’s presence would be an added bonus. His former Wigan teammate Sam Morsy believes the £900k-rated beast is “lethal” in one-to-one situations, whilst also hailing him as “unbelievable.”

As a result of this latest setback, Dunkley’s continued absence will be a devastating blow towards Wednesday’s chances of remaining in the Championship.

Moore is surely gutted.

بينما أعرب يورجن كلوب مدرب ليفربول عن تفاؤله بتوقيع محمد صلاح على عقد جديد مع نادي الدوري الإنجليزي، مؤكدا أن مفاوضات العقد لا تقلق، خرجت صحيفة ديلي تليجراف لتؤكد رفض الريدز لطلبات اللاعب المالية.

صلاح ينتهي عقده مع ليفربول بنهاية الموسم المقبل، ولم يصل لاتفاق للتجديد حتى الآن، رغم وجود مفاوضات بين الطرفين.

وسبق وصرح كلوب: “أنا متفائل جدًا بشأن ذلك، المحادثات الجيدة، هذا ما يمكنني قوله”.

وأفادت صحيفة “تليجراف” أن ليفربول وجه صدمة قوية لصلاح الموجود حاليًا في الكاميرون مع المنتخب المصري في أمم إفريقيا 2021، بخصوص مطالبه المالية بتجديد عقده مع الريدز خلال الفترة المقبلة.

وقالت الصحيفة إن نادي ليفربول رفض طلبات محمد صلاح المالية التي يريد الحصول عليها في عقده الجديد مع الفريق.

وأوضحت أن محمد صلاح حاول بكل الوسائل إقناع ليفربول بدفع الراتب الذي يعتقد أنه يستحقه، لكن النادي الإنجليزي رفض، مؤكدة أن عمر صلاح من الأسباب، خاصة وأن المصري يبلغ من العمر 29 عامًا ويقترب من إتمام عامه الثلاثين.

وأضافت الصحيفة أن ليفربول غير مستعد لتلبية طلبات محمد صلاح المالية من أجل تجديد عقده، وبالتالي منحه الضوء الأخضر لمغادرة النادي إذا أراد، خاصة وأن سياسة إدارة ليفربول تنطبق على جميع اللاعبين.

وكان محمد صلاح قد أعرب عن رغبته في تجديد عقده مع ليفربول بشرط أن يتقاضى راتبًا أسبوعيًا يصل إلى 500 ألف جنيه استرليني عند توقيع العقد الجديد، وهو ما لا يرحب به مسؤولو النادي الإنجليزي.

ويتلقى محمد صلاح، في الوقت الحالي، مع ليفربول راتبا أسبوعيًا يصل إلى 200 ألف جنيه إسترليني، وهو ثاني أعلى أجرًا في ليفربول، بعد المدافع الهولندي فيرجيل فان ديك الذي يتقاضى 220 ألفًا.
