Ainda em recuperação de uma lesão muscular grau 1, com edema, na coxa direita, o colombiano Riascos deve desfalcar o Vasco no duelo deste domingo, diante do Bangu, válido pela primeira rodada da Taça Guanabara. O atacante não treinou com bola em nenhum dia nesta semana e só reapareceu no gramado nos dois últimos dias ao lado do gerente científico Alex Evangelista para dar algumas voltas ao redor do gramado.

Companheiro de ataque de Riascos, Jorge Henrique adiantou em entrevista coletiva que o colombiano deve mesmo ficar fora desta partida. Liverpool are reportedly tracking Leeds winger Raphinha ahead of the summer transfer window and considering his superb start to life in the Premier League, he could be an excellent signing for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

In 17 Premier League appearances, the winger has contributed four goals and four assists, earning him an average rating of 7.01, including the only goal in a 1-0 win against Everton at Goodison Park, which may go some way to winning over the Liverpool fans should he join.

Whilst Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane have still emphasised their world-class qualities on the wings this season, with Diogo Jota having also impressed since joining from Wolves, the fact that Klopp’s side failed to score in four consecutive Premier League games earlier this year emphasises that they can still improve from an attacking perspective.

Earlier this season, BBC pundit Noel Whelan was full of praise for Raphinha, saying:

“He is exciting. He is direct, he has got pace.

“We saw that quality very early on when he came on when he threaded that ball through for Harrison into the 18-yard box. That was quality there.

“Raphinha, he is only going to get better.”

The Leeds man averages a similar number of shots, key passes and dribbles per game as the main Liverpool attackers, which suggests that he would fit in well at Anfield should he join in the summer.

Therefore, signing someone such as Raphinha, who can create something out of nothing with his ability and skills on the ball, could add something different to this Reds attack, so Michael Edwards should definitely try and bring him to Liverpool ahead of next season.

O atacante Kieza, que estava no São Paulo, participou normalmente da atividade feira pelo time do Vitória nesta quinta-feira. Some Southampton fans hammered the display of Mohamed Salisu during their 1-0 defeat to Everton on Monday.

Salisu, who signed for the Saints last summer from Real Valladolid, started against the Toffees at Goodison Park. Richarlison scored the only goal for Carlo Ancelotti’s men as Everton picked up the three points – Southampton have now won just one of their last 14 games in the Premier League (Sky Sports).

The £10.8m-valued Salisu (Transfermarkt) was making just his fourth appearance in the league for Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side after struggling with injury for a large chunk of the campaign. It proved to be a very difficult evening for the 21-year-old as he failed to get to grips with the physicality of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, winning just three of his eight duels.

These Saints supporters were far from happy with his performance, which one branded as “pathetic”, and they took to social media platform Twitter to share their thoughts.

It’s no surprise that more people seem to have caught onto Martinez’s ability, with Argentinian World Cup winner Daniel Bertoni, saying: “Any Italian team looking for a goalkeeper should watch Emiliano Martinez, who Arsenal relinquished last summer.

“Now he plays for Aston Villa and is a phenomenon: he guarantees 10 points per season.”

The shut-out against Leeds at Elland Road was the eighth time Villa have kept the opposition out in their 13 away games thus far this season, which already equals their club record from the 2009/2010 campaign.

A lot of that comes down to having a goalkeeper who can bring a bit of composure to the defence, not making any silly mistakes and doing the simple things well – he’s committed just one error leading to a goal in the Premier League, while he’s also much more of a throwback in terms of his style of goalkeeping.

He’s made just the one punch in 24 league games, instead being a much more relieving sight for his defenders by choosing to go up for the ball and hold it when the ball is in the air – he’s made 30 high claims.

Having that kind of number one behind you, is surely hugely welcomed by the likes of Tyrone Mings and Ezri Konsa, who know that their goalkeeper is there to take the pressure off their shoulders rather than add to it.

It’s exactly why Johan Lange struck a dream deal for Villa when he signed Martinez from Arsenal last summer.

Enquanto Cuca admite estar sofrendo em busca de uma solução para o setor criativo do time, os dois são castigados por uma série de lesões e ainda não estiveram disponíveis no ano. Cleiton, que está entre os atletas melhores remunerados do elenco, fez apenas 17 jogos desde que voltou, sendo quatro como titular. Fellype Gabriel só atuou uma vez. Enquanto isso, Cuca diz que terá mais trabalho do que imaginava e avisa que cogita pedir reforços.

– Tem muito trabalho, mais até do que eu pensava. Eu não conheço o elenco todo ainda, ainda tem jogadores em que a gente pode descobrir alguma coisa interessante.
