Manchester United are a club that has always had a knack for bringing through and developing young players from their academy to improve their first-team.

Going back to the likes of Ryan Giggs, George Best, David Beckham, and Sir Bobby Charlton, among many others, the Red Devils have a rich history of cultivating world-class talent.

In more recent years, Carrington has birthed careers for Marcus Rashford, currently on loan at Aston Villa, Scott McTominay, at Napoli, Anthony Elanga, at Nottingham Forest, and current first-team stars Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo.

Ruben Amorim is currently tasked with bringing through the next class of talent through to the first-team at Old Trafford, and there are plenty of potential future stars for the club coming through.

Manchester United's emerging talents

Senior debuts have been handed to Chido Obi-Martin and Ayden Heaven in recent weeks, both of whom joined the academy side from Arsenal.

Obi-Martin has made three first-team appearances for the Red Devils this year after a return of 12 goals in nine matches for the U18 side, following his exceptional haul of 32 goals in 21 games for the Gunners at U18 level during his time in London.

Heaven, meanwhile, came on for Leny Yoro at half-time against Arsenal on Sunday and impressed in the second half, with three out of five duels won, three clearances, a tackle, and an interception.

Another emerging talent who should be unleashed by Amorim in the weeks to come is 21-year-old central midfielder Toby Collyer, who could finally be unearthed as the club’s next version of Michael Carrick.

Sports analyst and Man United fan Kirsty, on X, compared the Carrington talent to the former Red Devils and England midfielder, as well as comparing him to Darren Fletcher.

Back in January, she posted: “Collyer might just be that Carrick/Fletcher player we’ve been longing for. Nothing flashy, just engine, control, and routine.”

Carrick racked up 464 appearances in all competitions during his time with United as a player, earning a reputation for being a steady performer who could break up play and keep the game ticking over with his qualities in and out of possession.

Collyer has a long, long, way to go before he can be directly compared to the now-Middlesbrough manager, but he has shown a lot of very promising signs.

As you can see in the table above, the “rapid” academy graduate – as he was described by one United content creator – has yet to start a Premier League match. That said, he has impressed with his cameos off the bench, dominating players in physical battles whilst remaining composed on the ball.

Collyer, who was described as “aggressive” on and off the ball by Bruno Fernandes, has taken his chances when they have come his way off the bench, and now it is time for Amorim to finally unleash him from the start as he could emerge as the club’s next Carrick.

From the 2009/10 campaign onwards, the England international averaged 2.1 tackles per game and a pass completion rate of 87%. The current United youngster is on course for a similar output on and off the ball, despite being yet to start a match, which is a very positive sign.

The Red Devils can finally find their next tempo-controlling, yet defensively aggressive, star in the middle of the park in Collyer, and it is down to Amorim to hand him the chances to showcase his quality as a starter in the coming weeks and months.

O Flamengo começou a partida em cima do Athletico e obrigou o goleiro Bento a trabalhar duas vezes em um intervalo de apenas dois minutos. Aos oito, os cariocas tocaram bem a bola, e Gabi encontrou João Gomes perto da entrada da pequena área. O volante, por sua vez, tentou tocar para Pedro, mas arqueiro do Furacão saiu bem e fez a defesa.

Logo na sequência, Bento apareceu de novo. Filipe Luís fez cruzamento rasteiro pelo lado esquerdo, Pedro se antecipou à marcação e conseguiu o toque, mas o goleiro estava bem posicionado e afastou o perigo.

DOMÍNIO

O Flamengo manteve a postura e dominou o Athletico durante praticamente os primeiros 45 minutos. Os cariocas, inclusive, terminaram o primeiro tempo com quase 65% de posse de bola, de acordo com dados do “FootStats”. Além disso, tiveram nove finalizações contra apenas uma do Furacão.

Nesse cenário, o Fla construiu várias boas chances de gol, mas não conseguiu balançar as redes de Bento. A melhor chance, além das criadas no início do jogo, veio com Gabi. Aos 30 minutos, João Gomes cruzou na medida para o atacante, que estava livre na pequena área. No entanto, ele pegou mal na bola e mandou por cima da meta do Furacão.

ATHLETICO APARECE, FINALMENTE

A equipe paranaense conseguiu incomodar o Flamengo aos 45 minutos do primeiro tempo. Terans fez fila na marcação, abriu espaço e tocou na medida para Fernandinho. O volante apareceu livre na área para finalizar, mas mandou para fora.

NA TRAVE

O Flamengo manteve a pegada, voltou para o segundo tempo em cima do Athletico e passou muito perto de abrir o placar. Assim, logo aos quatro minutos, Pedro acertou a trave de Bento após cruzamento de escanteio de Arrascaeta.

FURACÃO RESPONDE

Dessa vez, o Athletico não demorou para dar a resposta ao Fla. Aos nove minutos, Khellven cruzou pelo lado direito, David Luiz errou o tempo do cabeceio, e a bola passou na frente de Cuello. Mesmo sozinho, o atacante não esperava o erro do zagueiro e, assim, não conseguiu a finalização.

INCRÍVEL (DUAS VEZES)

Depois disso, no entanto, o Furacão pouco fez. Já o Flamengo criou duas chances claras de gol que por muito pouco não entraram. Elas, inclusive, vieram com Gabi, que cresceu de produção na etapa final.

Na primeira, Pedro tocou atrás para o atacante, que encheu o pé. A bola até passou por Bento, mas Khellven apareceu em cima da linha para tirar de cabeça. Na segunda, o cenário foi parecido. Thiago Maia tocou atrás para Gabi, que novamente bateu forte, mas dessa vez a bola carimbou o travessão.

EXPULSO

Já nos últimos segundos de jogo, David Luiz cometeu falta para matar um contra-ataque do Athletico. O zagueiro não gostou da marcação, reclamou com o árbitro Luiz Flávio de Oliveira e recebeu o vermelho.

Manchester United have produced countless talents out of their impressive academy system, with attacker Alejandro Garnacho one of the latest to emerge and thrive in the first-team.

The Argentine originally joined from Atlético Madrid back in 2020, linking up with the youth team before making the jump and seamlessly transitioning into the professional game.

He’s since made 130 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring 23 times, with eight of his efforts coming during the ongoing campaign at Old Trafford.

Ruben Amorim has continued to make him an integral part of his plans, as seen by his tally of 14 starts since his appointment at the end of November.

However, the same can’t be said for one player who evidently doesn’t appear to be in the 40-year-old’s plans after allowing him to depart on a temporary basis in January.

Marcus Rashford’s time at Manchester United

Academy graduate Marcus Rashford was frozen out of the United squad after Amorim’s arrival, making just six appearances after he took over the reins in the North West.

However, he’s gone out on loan to Aston Villa, recapturing his best form, already registering four assists under Unai Emery – leading to a recall to Thomas Tuchel’s England squad.

His time with his boyhood club has been a roaring success, registering 138 goals in 426 appearances, and it all started with his debut in the Europa League way back in 2016, scoring a double against FC Midtjylland.

The 27-year-old made himself an immediate fan-favourite given the impact on that night in February nine years ago, with not many predicting him to be as successful as he has been.

However, in the present day, one other Red Devils talent has the opportunity to follow in his footsteps after his own impressive performance during his first European outing for the club.

The player who could be United’s next Rashford

Performing on a European stage is a daunting task, let alone for your first professional start, something which Rashford did with ease all them years ago.

Centre-back Ayden Heaven has also managed to do just that, starring in the triumph against Real Sociedad on Thursday night in what was his first start for United after his summer move from Arsenal.

There’s no doubt the 18-year-old was a signing made for the academy, but after such a display, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him in Amorim’s first-team plans going forward.

The youngster has benefitted from the current injury crisis within the defensive department, taking his opportunity to shine at Old Trafford with both hands against the LaLiga outfit.

Heaven featured for the entirety of the clash, completing 86% of his passes and registering 64 touches – looking calm and composed in possession despite his tender age.

He also won 100% of the ground duels he entered, making four clearances and winning one tackle, helping the Red Devils reach the next stage in their pursuit of a trophy this campaign.

The defender, who was dubbed “exceptional” by Liam Canning, has certainly given Amorim a selection headache when other players return from their injury setbacks.

He’s replicated Rashford in impressing on his debut, which came in a European competition, with the centre-back having the potential to replicate the Englishman’s success at Old Trafford.

Should Heaven get anywhere near the levels the attacker has achieved in Manchester, he will be an absolute bargain, having the chance to cement his place at the back and play a vital role in their quest to return to glory.

ويلاقي ريال مدريد خصمه باتشوكا، ضمن منافسات الجولة الثانية من منافسات كأس العالم للأندية، اليوم الأحد، على ملعب “بنك أمريكا”.

ويتواجد ريال مدريد في المجموعة الثامنة بجوار كل من باتشوكا المكسيكي والهلال السعودي، بالإضافة إلى سالزبورج النمساوي.

وأخبر الدولي التركي ولاعب ريال مدريد، أردا جولر، مدربه الإسباني تشابي ألونسو، بالمركز الذي يرغب اللعب فيه مع الفريق الملكي في الفترة المقبلة.

وفي تصريحات نقلتها صحيفة “موندو ديبورتيفو”، قال أردا جولر: “أشعر براحة أكبر في مركز رقم 8 أو 10، ولكن إذا احتاجني الفريق كجناح، فسأفعل ذلك، أما تشابي ألونسو فيرى فيّ لاعب وسط أكثر”.

Gloucestershire’s misfortune with the weather continued as only 16 overs were possible on the opening day of the LV= Insurance County Championship match with Sussex at Bristol.Having seen their opening home game against Yorkshire washed out without a ball bowled and then been denied a probable victory at Worcester by rain, the hosts suffered more frustration when covers were brought on at the Seat Unique Stadium with little more than an hour played.Sussex had reached 47 for 1 when the drizzle started. As forecast, it turned into heavier rain by early afternoon and further saturated an outfield that was soft at the outset. Umpires Billy Taylor and Mark Newell took the decision to abandon play for the day at 3.15pm, by which time there was standing water on several areas and seagulls wading on the covers.What action there was saw Marchant de Lange strike an early blow after Gloucestershire had won the toss, Sussex opener Tom Haines being snapped up at gully by Miles Hammond looking to play a wide delivery off the back foot.Haines departed for 3 with the total on 9 in the third over, Ali Orr having already lifted Tom Price for a six over midwicket from the 11th ball of the match.Price, fresh from a maiden century and a hat-trick on the same day at Worcester, was not at his best, conceding 19 from his initial three-over spell from the Ashley Down Road End. De Lange was more accurate and ended his opening stint from the Pavilion End with figures of 1 for 5 from five overs, including three maidens.Orr had hit Price for another boundary off a no-ball and greeted the seamer’s switch of ends with a superb driven four through extra cover.Ajeet Dale was the third Gloucestershire bowler used and he sent down five tidy overs for ten runs having replaced Price.The floodlights were already on when play ceased at 12.05pm and, although the rain was light to start with, ground staff aware of the forecast for an afternoon deluge quickly brought on the heavy covers. Usman Khawaja walked up the dressing-room stairs unbeaten for the second straight evening at Edgbaston, 122 runs better off than he had been the night before. England hoped four overs would be enough to dislodge Khawaja on Friday, declaring in time for a crack at him with the new ball; 24 hours later, he had proved himself immovable.Khawaja was the nearly man of Australian cricket for much of his career, playing 93 times for his country before his 34th birthday without ever feeling like a permanent fixture in the side. His technique and temperament were called into question, and after three years out of international cricket, it seemed he had served his time.But in the Birmingham sunshine, Khawaja cut Ben Stokes for four and raced down the pitch to celebrate his seventh Test hundred since his recall 18 months ago. Since the start of 2023, he has scored hundreds in Australia, India and now, for the first time in his career, England.On a slow, dry pitch, Khawaja and Australia scored at a different tempo to the one England had set on the first day. They scored at barely two-thirds of the rate of England’s first innings, yet with Khawaja’s innings – littered with crisp pulls and handsome drives – ensured that they trailed by only 82 at stumps.It took Australia 24 balls to add to their overnight 14 for 0, absorbing more maidens in the first three overs of the day than England had done in their entire first innings. Khawaja pulled and flicked Stuart Broad and James Anderson for boundaries – he pulled and flicked his way through the day – but it was Broad who brought the morning to life.The first ball of his sixth over was a wide inswinger dangled outside off stump, but David Warner took the bait. Jonny Bairstow tumbled low to his right, taking the catch one-handed, and Australia were 29 for 2.The hat-trick ball flew harmlessly past Steven Smith’s thigh pad as he shouldered arms with a flourish, and Smith dug in resolutely against whatever Ben Stokes threw at him – including an over of gentle medium pace from Harry Brook inside the first hour. And so, Stokes took matters into his own hands, bringing himself on for only his second over in a match since mid-February, and his first since early April.His first delivery was a front-foot no-ball, perhaps striving to prove his fitness despite a chronic knee issue, but the last ball of his second over skidded into Smith’s pad. Marais Erasmus eventually gave Smith out after Stokes pleaded for the decision, and the DRS could not save him: ball-tracking predicted the ball would have hit the top of the stumps.Travis Head joined Khawaja and counter-punched either side of lunch in characteristic manner. He survived a short-ball barrage after the interval and both left-handers took on Moeen Ali, who bowled as well as could be hoped for a man who came out of Test retirement last week. Moeen started to leak runs, but Stokes stubbornly refused to take him off, or to push the field back.Khawaja took 106 balls to reach his half-century, while Head got there in 60, cutting an out-of-sorts Ollie Robinson away behind square. He didn’t score another run, skipping down the pitch and miscuing Moeen to short midwicket; Moeen pointed to Stokes at mid-off as he turned away in celebration.Moeen should have had two wickets in three balls, beating Cameron Green as he charged out of his crease. Instead, an unsighted Bairstow missed the stumping chance and Green added 72 with Khawaja for the fifth wicket in a stand that spanned the tea interval.The best ball of the day accounted for Green on 38, as Moeen flighted an offbreak wide outside off. It drifted away a touch, then spun back sharply from a good length to beat Green – lunging forwards as though stepping on an insect – on the inside edge and peg back his leg stump.Yet England failed to take another wicket, Khawaja and Alex Carey adding an unbroken 91 for the sixth wicket. Carey had a life on 26, prodding forwards to Joe Root only for Bairstow to put the chance down, an edge past Root at slip off Moeen brought him to 50. Khawaja, too, enjoyed a reprieve. Broad took the second new ball and found some nip off the seam to knock off stump back.But the third umpire noticed that Broad had overstepped, and he survived until the close once again. The crowd had started to filter out by the time he walked off with a beaming smile, at the end of a day that will be remembered as Usman Khawaja’s.

بدأ فرانك موريس مشواره التدريبي عقب اعتزاله اللعب عام 2002، حيث عمل في مركز تطوير المواهب بمدينة بيزانسون حتى 2006. ثم تولى تدريب نادي إي إس بيزانسون ونجح في إعادته إلى دوري الدرجة الثانية من أول موسم. بين عامي 2008 و2013، درّب نادي يو إس سانت، وتوج بلقب أفضل مدرب في دوري الدرجة الثانية الفرنسي عام 2010.

في عام 2014، تولى تدريب فريق يوسام نيم جارد، وحقق معه إنجازات لافتة أبرزها الوصول إلى نهائي كأس فرنسا 2018 واحتلال المركز الثاني في مرحلة الذهاب بالدوري موسم 2017-2018، إلى جانب التأهل إلى بطولة أوروبا للأندية لأول مرة منذ 25 عامًا.

وفي 2022، انتقل إلى تدريب نادي دانكيرك حتى نهاية موسم 2024-2025، قبل أن يقرر النادي عدم تجديد عقده.

Sam Northeast’s first century of the season put Glamorgan in a commanding position, setting Sussex a target of 359 in the final innings to win this game.Glamorgan captain Kiran Carlson changed the tempo of the innings with his half century at faster than a run-a-ball, before leaving it to Northeast to finish the job with 104 and set things up nicely for the final day’s play.The victory target is a tall order in 113 overs on a wicket that remains hard to score on, as Sussex finished on 27 for 1, losing opener Tom Haines caught slip off Australian leg spinner Mitch Swepson. Sussex trail by 331.Australian Nathan McAndrew was the pick of the Sussex bowlers getting his second four wicket haul of the match, while off spinner Jack Carlson toiled manfully through 28 overs for a return of 1-92 as the rest of the wickets were shared.Glamorgan batted themselves into a strong position with a mixture of the tortoise and the hare.Opener Zain-ul-Hassan provided the slow and steady part to set the platform for captain Carlson, who injected some pace into the batting by getting 59 off 50 balls.Ul-Hassan added a mere 23 runs through the entire morning session as he progressed to 47 at the lunch interval, but even though it was slow it was also important with the Sussex bowlers finding a bit of hitherto unseen bounce in the Sophia Gardens wicket.He lost opening partner Andrew Salter early, while number three Thomas Bevan departed for 15, Aristides Karvelas and McAndrew getting the wickets.Northeast is usually fluent when getting his runs, but he too was watchful while progressing steadily through to the lunch interval.Ul-Hassan departed first ball after the interval to a shot of unusually aggressive intent against Sussex off spinner Carson, and at that point the game changed with Carlson walking to the wicket.He immediately unveiled an array of shots, happy to go over the top and also employ the reverse sweep, clearly intent on ensuring Sussex would bat before the day was out.A swipe across the line to occasional medium pacer Tom Haines saw him depart LBW, while a series of Glamorgan batsmen came and went while trying to get Northeast up to his hundred.Having gone through to that landmark with a series of big hits, Northeast was the last man out for 104, run out trying to keep the strike with the declaration imminent.Sussex’s bowlers rotated their efforts and retained reasonable control apart from the period when Carlson was batting, Australian McAndrew the pick of the attack.
