A gente fica feliz, gente soube sofrer no decorrer do jogo e sair classificado – afirmou.

O zagueiro dedicou a vaga a Paulo Autuori, treinador do Botafogo.

O Alviverde vai a dez pontos.

Impeccably prepared NZ eye rare away series win

India have not lost successive home ODIs in a bilateral series since 2013, but will have to come up with an improved performance in Pune to force a decider

The Preview by Nikhil Kalro24-Oct-2017

BCCI

Big PictureNew Zealand rarely go into an away series without a gameplan. When they toured South Africa for a two-Test series last year, they had a discernible strategy: use the bouncer frequently to scuff up the ball to produce reverse-swing earlier than usual. Against India in the Test series in 2016, coach Mike Hesson stressed that their focus was on getting off strike to negate India’s spinners. Both those strategies worked to a degree, but didn’t translate into wins. For this ODI series against India, New Zealand made room for an aggressive middle-order batsman, Colin Munro, to face the new ball, while pushing down a natural opener in Tom Latham to No. 5. The experiment was trialed in a warm-up game, with acceptable results. Free of error, they stuck with that plan in the first ODI in Mumbai. Although scratchy, Munro blunted a potent new-ball attack, and Latham’s technical efficiency – using his feet, the depth of the crease, and cross-batted strokes against spin – produced a match-winning hundred. Australia came into the ODI series with a formulaic plan, and New Zealand a flexible, horses-for-courses blueprint. Which one worked? In the recent past, India have not been in a position where they have needed to win to force a decider. Their personnel did not fail in Mumbai, but were undone by New Zealand. Wristspinners Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal were dealt with with incredible ease, Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar weren’t penetrative, and their batsmen, apart from Virat Kohli, were kept in check. Against a confident team, India may just need to step up their own game a notch.Form guideIndia: LWLWW (last five completed matches, most recent first)New Zealand: WLLLWIn the spotlightIn his last 10 ODI innings, Rohit Sharma has hit three fifties and three hundreds. Even in favourable batting conditions, that’s exceptional form. Maybe that made him a little complacent in the first ODI in Mumbai, where his innings of 20 ended with a heave across the line against Trent Boult. Rohit has built his ODI career around stability in the first half of an innings, and could switch back to that template in Pune.Kane Williamson is New Zealand’s best batsman. He may have misread Kuldeep Yadav’s wrong’un in Mumbai, where he sliced a drive to cover, and this could mean a more watchful approach for the rest of the series. He has made only two hundreds in his last 37 ODI innings, but has struck 14 fifties in that period. Improving that conversion rate could just help New Zealand seal the series.Team newsIndia are unlikely to change their XI, but could rejig the batting order, moving Dinesh Karthik up a position to No. 4, after a steady comeback innings in Mumbai.India (probable): 1 Rohit Sharma, 2 Shikhar Dhawan, 3 Virat Kohli (capt), 4 Dinesh Karthik, 5 Kedar Jadhav, 6 MS Dhoni(wk), 7 Hardik Pandya, 8 Bhuvneshwar Kumar, 9 Kuldeep Yadav, 10 Yuzvendra Chahal, 11 Jasprit BumrahNew Zealand, barring fitness issues, have no reason to tinker with their winning combination from the first game.New Zealand (probable): 1 Martin Guptill, 2 Colin Munro, 3 Kane Williamson (capt), 4 Ross Taylor, 5 Tom Latham (wk), 6 Henry Nicholls, 7 Colin de Grandhomme, 8 Mitchell Santner, 9 Adam Milne, 10 Trent Boult, 11 Tim SoutheePitch and conditionsThe last international match in Pune was a Test that didn’t last three days. The ODI, prior to that, saw 351 chased down by Kohli and Kedar Jadhav. Runs are usually freely available at this ground, especially with short boundaries. There is no chance of rain.Stats and trivia Trent Boult has taken the most wickets in the first 10 overs of ODIs since January 2015 – 30 wickets in 42 innings. The previous instance of India losing successive home ODIs in a bilateral series was back in 2013, against Pakistan. Quotes”We look at it (trailing 1-0) as a big challenge right now. New Zealand compete exceptionally well. It is a bigger challenge for us to come back”
“We were lucky enough to be here last year, so we knew a little bit how India played and watching them against the Australian team, so lot of work was done in terms of spin and playing in the middle”

Exciting Celtic transfer news as deal is "far down the road"

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is now close to finalising his sixth summer signing of the transfer window, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

How have Celtic started their Scottish Premiership campaign?

Under the stewardship of an experienced manager in Rodgers, Celtic have started the campaign in bullish fashion, recording a 4-2 victory over Ross County on the opening day that was swiftly followed up by a 3-1 triumph away to Aberdeen last weekend, as per Sky Sports.

Next up for the Hoops is a trip to Rugby Park to face Kilmarnock as their defence of the Viaplay Cup begins as Celtic aim to build on their treble-winning success from last term.

Five new signings have come through the door at Parkhead to help with their congested fixture load that will include both domestic and European competition endeavours in the form of Odin Thiago Holm, Maik Nawrocki, Yang Hyun-jun, Kwon Hyeok-kyu and Marco Tilio, as per Transfermarkt.

Rodgers has already begun to reap the rewards of securing new young talent. Yang contributed with an assist to kill Aberdeen off at Pittodrie, Nawrocki has started both Scottish Premiership matches and looked comfortable, while Norwegian midfielder Holm has provided composure in the engine room in his brief cameo appearances.

In conversation with Sky Sports via Football Scotland, Celtic manager Rodgers confirmed that he is close to adding a replacement to the fold for central defender Carl Starfelt, who has recently left the Glasgow giants to join Celta Vigo.

The man in question is Elfsborg defender Gustaf Lagerbielke, who has jetted into Scotland to complete a medical ahead of a move to Celtic for a fee in the region of £3 million.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, transfer insider Jones has indicated that he would be surprised if Lagerbielke's proposed move to Celtic were to fall at the final hurdle.

Jones stated: “It does look like that this one is in the offing right now, and I’d be surprised if it fell apart at this stage to be honest, it seems like it’s too far down the road. It’s a good sign, and he will help Celtic win back possession, he’ll intercept key balls well, and he’ll also turn defence into attack with his quick passes that can change play very rapidly for Celtic.

“So, I think that that will be really interesting. This is a club that have had their Swedish heroes in the past. And while I don’t think he will have the same impact as the likes of Henrik Larsson, he could still be a very influential player if this team is going to continue to win trophies.”

Who else could Celtic look to add this summer?

Celtic look to be in the market for a few new arrivals before the window closes to provide squad depth to tackle the challenge of competing in the Champions League.

According to Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph, Celtic are keen on Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Daniel Podence, as he stated on Twitter X: "Celtic are keen on Wolves winger Daniel Podence. He has one year left on his contract & wasn’t included in the squad last night. Wolves want around £12m, but it’s understood Celtic see room for negotiation, if they make an approach."

Newcastle United outcast Ryan Fraser is another target for the Hoops this summer and it is believed that a 'formal approach' is being readied for the Scotland international, as per The Northern Echo.

Mailplus report that Celtic are weighing up a move for Nantes left-back Quentin Merlin and have scouted the youngster several times, though he could cost in the region of £7 million.

Burnley Could Sign ‘Dominant’ £12k-p/w Koleosho Upgrade

The fresh feeling around Burnley, generated by Vincent Kompany’s attacking, free-flowing football and a glorious promotion back to the top flight, has opened a realm of new transfer opportunities.

The club are heading in the right direction and Turf Moor has become a realistic home for young prospects.

Another played tipped to join the Clarets’ revolution is Johan Bakayoko.

Burnley transfer news – what's the latest?

On 11 August, Fabrizio Romano revealed that Burnley had asked for the conditions on a Bakayoko deal and Kompany was driving the interest.

However, the Italian journalist reaffirmed that it isn't an easy deal as many clubs are chasing the PSV winger, with the Dutch outfit set to command a ‘big fee’ to sanction his departure.

But, according to Sacha Tavolieri, a recent development has emerged which has seen Everton open talks for Bakayoko, and they are set to make an ‘official approach.’

This is likely to prompt a domino effect, encouraging Burnley to accelerate their interest in the deliciously talented youngster.

Who is Johan Bakayoko?

Featuring predominantly as a right-winger for various PSV youth sides and the senior team, Bakayoko has registered 62 goal contributions in 105 appearances from this position and formed a formidable reputation for his skilful dribbling, hypnotic technique, and blistering directness.

Last season, the Belgian bagged nine goals and crafted six assists in 30 starts across all competitions, with ten of those coming in the Eredivisie.

Although is still in the infancy of his career, the £12k-per-week sensation has resoundingly demonstrated that he is untouchable in the Dutch top flight. Over the past 365 days, in comparison to his positional peers outside of Europe’s top five leagues, he ranks within the top 10% for assists per 90, shot-creating actions per 90, progressive carries per 90, and successful take-ons per 90.

His form has generated huge acclaim from former PSV manager and Manchester United Ruud van Nistelrooy, who said: “He is so dominant. He’s a boy who, if he continues to invest in what he’s doing now, hopefully at the end of the season can make a nice step towards first. He’s worked hard on multiple facets of his game, and that’s showing through now. Maintaining this level in the longer term is his goal.”

Bakayoko has seemingly fulfilled his target and looks set to embark on a new challenge.

The right-wing spot at Burnley is there for the taking too.

In the club’s season opener against Manchester City, Luca Koleosho began in that position but failed to make any meaningful impact. In 61 minutes, the attacker failed to record any accurate long balls and crosses or forge any successful dribbles, as Burnley were defeated 3-0 by the reigning European champions.

Of course, it is hard to judge a player in these circumstances on his Premier League debut against the most elite opposition. However, to place a large portion of trust with less than ten senior appearances to his name is extremely risky, and the club could clearly benefit from the arrival of an exciting prospect such as Bakayoko. Indeed, he would surely represent a big upgrade.

Andhra, Mumbai notch up first wins of the season

Andhra chased down an easy target of 65, while Mumbai wrapped up Odisha for 292 in the second innings

Andhra notched up their maiden win of the season after chasing down a target of 65 in 13.1 overs against Madhya Pradesh on the final morning in Vizianagaram. Andhra, however, missed out on a bonus point after losing openers Srikar Bharat (6) and DB Prasanth (23) during the chase. Earlier, resuming on 67 for 5, Madhya Pradesh couldn’t muster much of a resistance as they were bowled out with the addition of only 52 runs in the morning. Madhya Pradesh lost Saransh Jain in the eight over of the morning, but the bigger blow came when they lost captain Devendra Bundela (38) to slump to 97 for 7. There was barely any recovery from there as they folded for 119. Seamer Bandaru Ayyappa finished with five wickets. DB Prasanth and captain Hanuma Vihari (28*) ensured Andhra’s chase was a breeze. Andhra’s win means they now replace Madhya Pradesh as the group-toppers, with 15 points from four games.A comprehensive 120-run win over Odisha in Bhubaneswar handed Mumbai their first win of the season. Set a target of 413, Odisha were bowled out for 292 in their second innings, with Dhawal Kulkarni and Akash Parkar being the wreckers in chief with three wickets each.Resuming on 93 for 4, Odisha began their final day in right earnest as captain Govinda Poddar (87) and Shantanu Mishra (49) constructed a 90-run partnership. Their resistance meant Mumbai got their first breakthrough only in the 22nd over of the day when Abhishek Nayar breached Poddar’s defence. Exactly nine overs later, Parkar dismissed Mishra at the stroke of lunch to reduce Odisha to 196 for 6. There were handy efforts from Suryakant Pradhan (32), Biplab Samantray (31) and Saurabh Rawat (29), but it was always going to be a bridge too far four Odisha as they were bowled out shortly after the drinks break in the second session. With 10 points, Mumbai have gone past Tamil Nadu and are now third on the points table.
